Social Responsibility
Its 2010 and Ninzi-Connect have 3 new pupils from
Bordeaux Primary to whom we giving bursaries to -
Cleo, Irene and Gloria.
On Monday night we went to Bordeaux Primary to meet this
years three pupils with their parents and guardians. The
principal of Bordeaux Primary swelled with pride when
she requested us to see what they had done for the
Soccer World Cup. In the reception area there is a big
board with a world map showing the pupils where each
country is that will be participating in the world cup.
Then hanging from the ceiling are huge flags of each
country. As you walk into the school hall, there are
flags hanging all over.
To get the pupils involved, each class had to pick a
country from out of a hat. The country they chose was
the country that class would support for the soccer.
During the months leading up to the soccer they have to
learn about that country i.e. food, people etc and at
assembly they stand up and tell the rest of the school
about that country.
Back in the meeting room, the Bordeaux Primary principal
said a few words and thanked Ninzi-Connect for their
generosity and for helping both Bordeaux Primary and
their pupils.
After the heart warming speech from the principal we
then heard from the girl’s aunt, mom and then the third
girl whose guardian was unable to be present spoke.
During these talks the pupils and parents were very
emotional and included a few instances of shedding tears
of joy.
It was an evening filled with “life’s lessons”,
gratitude, and appreciation for the ‘basic things’ in
life. Once again Ninzi-Connect were able to brighten the
way of 3 pupils while sharing the load of educating
‘tomorrow’s leaders’.
Thank you to Ninzi-Connect for giving bursaries to
pupils from Bordeaux Primary every year and thank you to
Bordeaux Primary for always making us feel so special.
